Last Result: Samphires 3 v 1 Mastergeeha (M Ferris, G McCarthy, D Clinton)
We got a fortuitous victory over Mastergeeha last Sunday in Fenit. It was damp but perfect for soccer. We started well and went 1 up through Mairtín. After this Mastergeeha came into the game and scored a deserved equaliser near the end of the first half when we failed to clear our lines properly in defence and failed to pick up opposition midfielders.In the second half Mastergeeha shaded affairs for the first 30 minutes and forced a number of half chances but failed to capitalise.For the last 10 minutes our lads finally added a bit of intensity to their game and after a period of sustained pressure JJ cut through their defence and was taken down in the box which Ger Mac converted well. For the last 5 minutes we had to defend deep and play on the counter. From one of these Pa Mac combined with his brother Tommy who put in a smashing through ball to Danno who retained his composure under pressure to score and finish the game as a contest. Well done to Johnny,Mackin and Mairtín on the result and their game management especially in the last 15.
