U12 Division 1
Fenit Samphires 5 A vs 0 Tralee Dynamos B (Scorers Aaron Harty(3), CianMcKenna, Jayden Deady)

Pride of place this week goes to our Boys 12s who finished the first phase of their league on top of Division 1. We played at home to Tralee Dynamos B who were 2nd in the table on Saturday in our last game in this round of fixtures. It was a must win game and from the whistle they played great soccer and very noticeable was their determination. They really pushed on to their opponents and didn’t really leave them settle. Dynamos were always threatening and at every opportunity tried to get ball over our defence who were outstanding and probably played their game of the season so far. On 15 minutes in we broke the deadlock with a goal from Aaron. Soon after Cian put us two in front with Jayden adding a 3rd with a long range shot to the bottom corner. The team were beaming with confidence at half time. The energy from Tom and Gregory was outstanding and work rate to match. The 2nd half saw much of the same with two more goals despite Dynamos always threatening on the counter. Dominic is getting better and stronger each game, Jack McCarthy just outstanding, Jack Nolan just amazes, Gregory saved his best performance of the season for this match, Charlie Nolan hassling forwards, Kealan always doing the right thing with the ball and Jack Dwyer having the cleanest sheet in the division. This team is just a joy and very promising for the future. Final score 5-0. Dynamos are a fine team and the scoreline doesn’t do them justice. Anyone could have got the man of the match today but it goes to Tom Quilter for his work rate with Gregory and Jack Nolan deserving of it too.

Seniors Fenit Samphires 2 vs 1 Castleisland (Scorer Chris Murphy (2))

The senior team played Castleisland last Sunday in a league game. We started very well and were 2 up through a brace from Chris Murphy who was excellent throughout. Castleisland changed their formation at half time putting an extra player up top and were more direct in the 2nd half but Peter and Chick at the back were solid and Brian behind them making some good saves.. We could have finished the game after a superb counter attack but narrowly missed with 25 to go. After this we shipped quite a lot of pressure and conceded a goal with 20 on the clock. Managers Dave Rogers and Ruairi Kelly made a few astute substitutions which energised the team, our midfield got back on top from here out with Ryan Downey especially to the fore and we saw out the game to win 2-1.

U16 Div 1
Fenit Samphires 5 vs 1 Iveragh FC (Scorers Cian Cearney (2), Eddie McCarthy (2), Adam Doyle)

Last Saturday saw the 16s play Iveragh United from South Kerry. We got off to a very positive start and from the 1st minute brought the game to Iveragh. 2 early goals put us 2 up, but Iveragh were awarded a penalty and the game went 2-1. Cian Cearney scored a third for us in the first half to make it 3-1 at the break. Fenit continued to dominate the second half with the game ending 5-1. The lads played as a team and we were at our best when we attacked using the wings. .Other good performances by Danny Jeffers, Paddy O’Sullivan, Eoghan Walsh, Paddy Walsh and Dylan Ryan but well done to all the squad.

U12 Boys LB Rovers 3 vs 0 Fenit Samphires
The U12 division 2 side played away to LB Rovers today. We were a bit nervous because LB beat us before 9-0 but were determined it would be a different story. We see improvements every game and with luck we could have won this game. We defended and then counter attacked which saw us one on one with the goalie 3 times in the first half. It was from two set pieces and messy ball in our box that cost us two goals in the first half. In the 2nd half we attacked and looked for goals. Unfortunately we conceded a 3rd goal but never gave up. We had two more golden chances but a goal eluded us. While we lost 3 nil we deserved more. Conor  and Paddy were outstanding with Sean Power and Seanie Jeffers leading at the back. This team has wins in them and it is only matter of time. Well done boys.

Boys U7s and U8s

The U7 and U8 boys teams did great and really enjoyed their first blitz of the year. Thanks to Camp for hosting us and we look forward to returning the favour in February.

Girls U16s vs Boys U14s

The Girls U16s played the boys U14s in a challenge last Saturday on a greasy pitch in Fenit. Both teams were without a few regulars but served up quite a good game all the same. It finished up 3-1 to the boys but the girls could have forced a draw with 2 late efforts hitting the bar. It was a good workout for both teams.
