Seniors: Greyhound Bar Cup Tralee Dynamos 0 v 0 Samphires AET( Tralee Dynamos win 4-3 on pens)

We lost out on pens to Tralee Dynamos in the Greyhound Bar Cup last Friday night in a keenly contested game we feel we probably left behind. We had a lot of the play, hit the post a number of times through Chris Murphy, Ger McCarthy and Ryan Downey and on top of all that missed a few gilt edged chances. Against that our keeper Jack Savage had one or two good saves to make to keep them scoreless. It went to penalties after extra time and we lost out 4-3. We wish Dynamos ther best of luck in the rest of the competition.

U17s: Athletico Ardfert 1 v 1 Samphires (Scorer Gavin Burrows)

The 17s were moments from victory against neighbours Ardfert in a match under lights in Tralee last Friday night. Like our senior team in the following match, we missed quite a number of chances to finish the game after Gavin Burrows had put us ahead. We lost a couple of lads to injury as the game progressed but the lads who replaced them played just as well. Unfortunately, six minutes into injury time we conceded to make it a 1 all draw.  We are in second place in the league with 2 games to go.

U12 Boys: Iveragh 2 v 0 Samphires

For the second game in a row the 12s gave a slightly under par performance as we made the journey to a very windy Caherciveen to play Iveragh in the Cup. We ended up on the wrong side of a 2-0 result and we would have to admit the better side won. They scored just before and after half time and to make matters worse we missed a penalty 10 minutes into the second half when we had Iveragh under pressure. Overall we aren’t playing with the same energy as before and with 3 league games left we need to refocus our efforts. Best for us were Kealan O’Dowd and Jack Nolan.
