Seniors: Samphires B 2-0 Tralee Dynamos C (Scorers: Michael O’Brien, Billy Walsh)

Our Senior B team claimed a hard-fought 2-0 win over a more experienced Tralee Dynamos C side, showing resilience despite finishing with 10 men due to injuries. The first half saw Dynamos control possession, but we defended well and kept the game scoreless at the break. Early in the second half, we took the lead when Michael O’Brien found the net with a clinical strike after some good work down our right hand side. We doubled our advantage midway through the half when Billy Walsh found the net after tormenting the Dynamos backline for most of the game. We held firm as Dynamos pushed for a way back to secure a well-earned victory and a clean sheet.

Girls U14s: Samphires 2 V 5 Mastergeeha (Scorers: Roisin Rice(2) )

Another exciting match today, unfortunately one we came up a little short on. The girls put in a commanding first half and deservedly led at the break thanks to a beautiful curling shot from Roisin Rice. Mastergeeha, league leaders and undefeated this season, came more into the game in the 2nd half and were rewarded for their pressure with 2 goals to take the lead. Samphires had chances though, including a penalty which was well saved, however, Mastergeeha finished the game strongly to ensure the win.

Boys U14s: Samphires B 1 v 3 Castleisland B (Scorer: Josh Ennis)

Our 14 B team lost out at home last weekend to Castleisland. Both teams train on all weather pitches and it was plain to see as not many players were able to control the ball in the early stages of the match on our grass pitch in Fenit. Overall we had a bit more more of the play but not being able to get a decent enough touch on the ball under pressure in the final third cost us. Castleisland took advantage of some really poor defending by us to score their first 2 goals when they got the chances, their 3rd was a cracker and were deserved winners. Goals pay the rent!

Girls U13s: Samphires 0 v 4 Ballyhar

Not a great result for our girls last weekend but a good day overall. Our team was short a few regulars and we were well beaten by a good Ballyhar side. After the match however we heard that other results had gone our way and that we had won our league. So a big well done to all the girls and a big thank you to Noel and Noelle who have trained the team for the past couple of years and it was great for them and for the club to win some silverware. Thank you too to all the parents who have supported us throughout the year.

A spirited performance by our boys last Saturday saw us lose out 5-2 in a thriller away to Tralee Dynamos. It was an end to end match throughout, with Dynamos taking the game away from us with some well taken goals near the end.

Samphires U10: Our boys lined out today in Ardfert against Ferry Rangers in their Phase 2 challenge game and Tralee Dynamos as a friendly fixture. Dynamos proved to be a very tough opponent for the Samphires Black team whereas the Ferry match Vs Fenit White was an absolute thriller until the very last kick. Huge thanks to Ferry and Dynamos for travelling to ARC and to all of the Fenit coaches and parents for their support.
