Men Seniors: AC Athletic 2 v 3 Samphires (Scorers: Dylan Flynn,Philip McCoy, OG)

Our seniors got back to winning ways last Sunday. We had our best performance of the new year but we still have a way to go to get back to our best. Still, a win is a win, so well done boys.

Men Seniors: Elton Wanderers 4 v 0 Samphires B

A poor effort by our B team last week again against a team below us in the league standings. We are going through a poor pahase at the moment so it’s time to get back to basics and back to being mean in our defending.

U15 Boys Trophy: Killarney Celtic B 3 v 1 Samphires B

U15 Boys: Samphires A 4 v 0 Killorglin B

U15 Boys: Samphires A 2 v 1 Dingle Bay Rovers

2 good wins for the 15s against good teams last weekend. This follows a number of good victories over the past while and well done to Mike and Ciaran who are getting the team to perform at a good level. Good stuff boys, keep up the good work.

U14 Girls Premier: Castleisland 5 – 3 Fenit

A poor 1st half cost us dearly in this fixture. 4 nil down at half time, it would have seemed that the game was over but mid way into the second half it was 4-3 and the game was on… the next goal was crucual and both teams went for it. In the end we were the team to concede, but we are very happy with how we responded in such a dire situation.

U14 Boys: Iveragh 1 v 1 Samphires A (Scorer: Conor Walshe)

We travelled to Cahirciveen last Saturday to play Iveragh. We didn’t really show what we could do until the last quarter, when with the score at 1 all, we pushed and created a good number of chances to win the game but we kept hitting the side netting. In fairness, the home team hit the post twice earlier in the game so a draw was probably a fair result. The rest of the match was quite disappointing from our point of view where we failed to get the ball down and take control of the game and we just punted forward in hope repeatedly to no avail.

U13s vs Camp Jan 26

U13 Girls Division 1: Camp 3 v 3 Samphires (Scorers Fiadh McElligott)

Our u13 girls played out a thrilling 3-3 draw versus Camp FC on Sunday in the ARC. It was a very entertaining game which was played in good spirits by both teams. At the halftime, it was evenly poised at 1-1. The game ebbed and flowed in the second half and our girls showed some serious grit to get the equalising goal with 5 mins to go which meant a hat trick for Fiadh McElligott! We had 15 girls in the squad on Sunday and each everyone of them added to a brilliant game.

U13 Boys Premier: Samphires 1 – 3 Inter Kenmare

A competitive performance against Kenmare where we felt we had as much of the game as our opponents but they got 2 goals early in the game which was the difference in the end. We got 1 back but couldn’t force an equaliser and Kenmare got another near the end to give them the victory.

U13 Boys Trophy/Shield Round 1 Samphires B 5 v 4 Park C

U12 Girls Premier Mastergeeha 3 v 0 Samphires

U12 Boys Premier: Samphires A 3 v 4 Camp A

Defensive errors have crept into our performances in the past couple of games which have cost us points. We’re much better with the ball than without but we have to up our efforts out of possession and make more correct decisions defensively before we will get back to winning ways.

U12 Boys : Castleisland C 2 v 2 Samphires B (Castleisland win on pens)

A great effort by our lads in a tight game which ended all square. We lost the tie on pens but we are happy with our performance overall.
