Men Seniors: Samphires 1 v 1 Classic (Classic win aet & pens)
Our seniors were knocked out on pens last weekend in the Greyhound Bar Cup. In a game where both teams had periods of dominance, it could have gone either way. We scored early in the first half and were slightly the better team, but we failed to add to our lead. Classic upped it in the second half and got an equaliser but for the rest of the match, both teams were comfortable in defending the ball and it went to pens. Paddy saved a couple but we put a few wide and that was the difference.

Boys U12s: Samphires 5 v 3 Castleisland (Scorers: Cian O’Sullivan(2), Matthew Rael(2), Eoghan Gilligan)
A superb all‑round team performance from the Fenit Samphires U12 Premier side last Tuesday evening. The team were excellent defensively throughout, showing great organisation, work rate and discipline across the pitch.
We got off to a flying start with two top‑class goals from Cian O’Sullivan. The opening goal came from a brilliant assist by Luke McCann, while the second followed soon after with Matthew Rael supplying the pass. Cian caused constant problems for the Castleisland defence and was a major threat throughout the first half.
We added a third through Eoghan Gilligan after another excellent delivery from Luke McCann. Eoghan still had plenty to do, but showed great composure in the box to calmly slot the ball into the bottom corner. Castleisland, who are a very good and well‑organised side, responded well and pulled one back before the break, sending Fenit in 3–1 up at half‑time.
The wind picked up in the second half and Castleisland increased the pressure, working hard all over the pitch and staying well organised. They reduced the margin to 3–2 and made us fight for everything.
Our team showed great composure in response. Ten minutes into the second half, a superb assist from Morgan O’Driscoll set up Ben Teahon, who finished confidently to make it 4–2. Castleisland continued to push and struck again to make it 4–3, setting up a tight and competitive finish.
After a strong spell of pressure from Castleisland, Fenit sealed the win in the closing moments when Matthew Rael capped an outstanding performance by finding the back of the net to secure the victory.
Man of the Match on the night was Matthew Rael, with other standout performances from Cian O’Sullivan, Eoghan Gilligan, Ben Teahon and Luke McCann. Credit to a very good Castleisland team who were well organised and worked hard throughout. Very proud of the boys tonight, a strong team performance and a well‑earned win.

Boys U11s: A huge end to the season for our Boys U11 Black team today in the final of the Salvar. Going behind early the boys fought hard to claim a victory over a very competitive LB Rovers (White). Goals from Harrisson Cahil and Ben Crowley with Karl Wallace clinching the all important winner. Captain Sonny Walsh was also nominated by todays referee as Man of the Match. This is a huge achievement for this group who have continued to show resilience and determination throughout a tough season. Huge appreciation too for all of the coaches and parents whose support was equally relentless.

Boys U10s: The Samphires boys U10 Green team won the shield final vs Mastergeeha last Monday morning in Tralee. Great bunch of boys who have loved playing together all year, culminating in a fantastic team performance. Jack Feehan captained the side and Páidí Gilligan awarded MOTM. Well done boys.
