Girls U16s: Park 0 v 2 Samphires(Scorers Lilly Nowak, Saoirse Donovan)

Playing the first half against very strong breeze away in the first round of the Cup did not help and we were constantly under pressure from our opponents. On few occasions our goalkeeper Katie Hussey made great saves to keep us in the game and we hold to 0-0 at the break. In the second half we started to create more goal scoring chances and after some good work on right wing, Lilly Nowak scored a great goal from the edge of penalty area into the top, far corner, giving Park goalkeeper no chance to save. With 10 mins to go, one of our passes found Saoirse Donovan in the middle of the pitch and she won 1 on 1 with goalkeeper to get us 2:0 up. Park kept creating chances to the very end but our defence and goalkeeper made no mistakes and so Samphires progress to the next round. Player of the game: Dervla Jeffers.

Girls U14s: Dingle Bay Rovers 0 v 0 Samphires (Dingle won 6-5 a.e.t.)

The Girls U14s also had a Cup game against Dingle Bay Rovers at home on Saturday, 6 April. It was very exciting game with few scoring chances but finished 0:0 after full time whistle. Extra time was also without goals so this game was going to be decided on penalties. After first 5 penalties it was 3-3 so then it was “sudden death” and Dingle managed to score one more finishing on scoreline 6-5. Congratulations to Dingle and good luck in the next round. For Samphires it was another solid performance, especially in defence where Clara O’Dowd had fantastic game and Lucy Murphy play her best game this season in midfield.

Boys U13s: Dingle Bay Rovers 3 v 2 Samphires (Scorers Aaron Harty(2))

We lost away to Dingle last Saturday in west Kerry in a game of 2 halves. Our defending as a team all over the pitch wasn’t good especially early on in the game where our lads tended to drift out of position too easily. We were against the wind in the first half and didn’t compete at the level required and were 3 down at the half. We upped it in the second half, got 2 back through Aaron Harty, but couldn’t squeeze a third despite the pressure we put on Dingle.

Boys U11s: Our 11s had a few matches with teams from Iveragh last Sat in Fenit and again our teams held their own showing a lot of hard work and skill. Well done to all involved.
