Seniors: Emerald Eagles 4 v 2 Samphires B
In a hard fought battle, we eventually lost out last weekend. Well done to all the lads who on another day could have gotten something out of the game.
Boys U15s: Samphires 0 v 3 Castleisland
Our 15s lost out after another decent performance last Saturday in Fenit. Castleisland are playing for the league and we were up against it , missing a few regulars, but all the squad on the day did very well throughout. Our opponents didn’t give us much time on the ball and we coughed up a good deal of possession under the pressure especially in the first half, but we didn’t let them play through us either. Castleisland’s transition to attack was also a problem for us for a while but we adjusted up to the level required and played well overall. It was an even enough game but they had a little more poise than us in front of goal which was decisive, so well done to them. For us, it was another step forward after a poor first half of the season. In particular, Conor O’Sullivan and Conor Nolan were two of our better players on the day.

Girls U14s: Samphires 2 v 0 Castleisland (Scorers: Erin Harty, Fiadh Nelan)
Our u14 girls played their first league match of 2025 in windy conditions in Fenit. An assured and confident performance saw them come out winners in an entertaining and competitive match. Goals from Erin Harty and Fiadh Nelan ensured the win, however, there were strong performances across the pitch. In particular, a resolute defence and great goal keeping ensured a first clean sheet of the season. Thanks to Castleisland for a sporting match.
Girls U14s: Killorglin v Samphires
Boys U14s: Camp 0 v 2 Samphires (Scorers: Jack Corridon, Evan Diggin)
Well done to the 14s with their win over Camp last weekend. In quite a tight game we squeezed out the win with goals from Jack and Eva. These 2 in particular had very good games which got us over the line. In contrast, some of our other players had mixed games, with too many tackles being lost and we had to ride our luck at times. Still, a win is a win.
Boys U14s: Park C 0 v 2 Fenit B (Scorers: Daniel Lawlor (2))
A close run thing but the Bs got it over the line last week in another close match. Our team has a good few lads playing up and this experience of playing a faster game will stand to them going forward. Well done to all and to Daniel for his 2 well taken goals.
Boys U13s: Samphires B 2 v 1 Camp B ((Scorers: Eoghan Farrelly)
A hard fought win over Camp in a match that was keenly contested throughout. Over the course of the game both teams had chances but goals from and Eoghan Farrelly put us 2 to the good by the middle of the second half. Camp finished strongly and got 1 back to make it a nervous finish but we held out for the win. Well done boys.
Boys U12s: Killarney Athletic A 4 v 1 Samphires A (Scorer: Áron Keating)
Our A team had a bad defeat in Killarney and got a glimpse of how tough it can be when all our lads aren’t it. We were punished when we were sloppy and the better team won. Hope we will learn from it.

Boys U12s: Samphires 1 v 1 Ferry Rangers (Scorer: Luke McCann)
Samphires B 1 Ferry Rangers 1…Our latest fixture was a home game in Fenit against Ferry Rangers from Tarbert on Sunday 2nd Feb.The first half started with some frantic play from both teams as they tried to manage the testing ground conditions. We settled in to the game with midfielders and wingers linking up well which created a few chances to test the Ferry Rangers defence and keeper. Our attacks resulted in a number of corner kicks that were well delivered into the box by Eoghan Gilligan and Cian O’Sullivan but we couldn’t convert to a score. At the other end our defence were up to the challenge of the Ferry Rangers attack, while Luke Falvey came out to collect any ball that got past our defence and made a couple of important saves. Just before half time Eoghan Gilligan had a free kick go just over the cross bar. Halftime score 0-0.
Samphires started the second half with a renewed energy and created some great attacking play and a number of chances that just couldn’t rattle the Ferry Rangers net. However they finally got their reward on 45mins when Luke McCann netted on the second attempt to make the score 1-0. This gave Fenit a confidence boost and they continued to create opportunities even hitting the post and side netting and testing the Ferry Rangers keeper on a few occassions. With time almost up we conceded a corner kick and Ferry Rangers sent all players into the our box. The ball ended in the box and the resulting attempts to clear the lines resulted in a penalty for Ferry Rangers. The well taken penalty was dispatched to the net which left the score at 1-1 at the final whistle.Final score Samphires B 1 Ferry Rangers 1.(Missing from photo were Eoin Corridan and Josh Duffy)
Boys U12s: Fenit C 1 v 0 Castleisland C (Scorer: Matthew Rael)
Well done to our Div 2 team who eked out another win to continue their recent form. A good display too made it a good day for all concerned. Well done boys.
Boys U11s: Our u11 boys played a series of games this morning in windy conditions against Camp and Kenmare. Some great skills, teamwork and effort on show! Thanks to Camp and Kenmare for travelling and well done to our boys!

Boys U10s: Our U10 Boys finished off their Phase 1 games of the Development League today, welcoming Mastergeeha to Ardfert. Fabulous conditions for the fixture and the Samphires’s boys put on a great display in both games. Thanks for all of the support from the sidelines and to all of the coaches for managing, refereeing and setting up the fixture.
