Senior Men: Samphires B 2 v 0 Killorglin C (Scorers: Joe Carmody, Odhran Murphy)
Senior Men: Ballyhar 0 v 5 Samphires A (Scorers: Sean Allen, Dylan Flynn, Billy Walsh, Dara Heim, Jesse Stafford-Lacey)
Well done to our men’s Senior teams over the past 2 weekends, both of whom recorded victories. Great to see the lads’ work at training paying off. Keep it up boys.
Girls U15s: Dingle Bay Rovers 4 v 0 Samphires
Hard luck to the girls 15s who lost out to a dogged Dingle team last week. We started poorly and Dingle scored early and this set the tone for the first half. We recovered in the second half but couldn’t breach Dingle’s defence. Well done to both teams who gave us such a good game.
Boys U15s: Inter Kenmare 3 v 0 Samphires
The boys 15s lost out somehow to Kenmare on an unusually hot day last Saturday. A combination of poor defending and woeful finishing left us on the wrong end of a 3 nil defeat. We played well for lots of the game between the boxes but in the business ends of the pitch we were very poor at times, especially in attack, missing countless chances on a perfect pitch. Well done to our opponents and also to the Kenmare club on their new All-Weather pitch which is a fine addition to our league.
Boys U14s: Samphires 0 v 4 Camp
A bad defeat against a team we beat not too long ago. A failure to compete at times led to the concession of needless goals and our opponents weren’t shy about scoring. Though we play nice football, we need to wake up to the fact that it’s not all about pretty football.
Girls U13s: Samphires 0 v 3 Tralee Dynamos
A dominant display by Dynamos gave them a deserved victory. For whatever reason, we failed to fire on the day but we have a couple more games to go and overall the season has been a very good one for this bunch of girls.

Girls U12s: Samphires 1 v 3 Park (Scorer: Fiadh McElligott)
Well done to all the girls today. Unfortunately we were defeated 3 – 1 by Park Fc. However, we showed some fierce defending in the first half led by Aoife Carey. Sarah Kate and Emma were left and right.. and held off the incoming with strength and determination. Midfield was superb with Sadhbh O’Donnell heavily marking and instructing her wing women Saoirse Reen(Captain) and Siún O’Donnell. The girls fed some great ball up the wings with Siun almost scoring a goal in the 2nd half. Fiadh McElligott and Emma Barrett- Neziri were marked 4 on 2 yet held their own and set up some lovely play. Our goalie Caoimhe Madden played a blinder in the first half – kicking to the wings and commanding from goal. At half time it was 0 – 0, the girls having played steady and strong. Fiadh scored a goal in the 2nd half which was beautifully passed by Emma Lawlor. The second half also saw u11s Lauren McCarthy and Saoirse Stack have a run and come in to shake things up. We finished up 3 – 1 down but the girls played their hearts out and can be very proud of a strong performance. We saw huge grit and determination by these girls today – the ground was heavy with mud and wind against us in 2nd half – however, they never gave up. A fierce crew of girls!
Boys U12s: Listowel Celtic 1 v 1 Fenit A (Scorer: Aron Keating)
A decent display by our team but again inaccuracy in front of goals cost us the victory as the team’s approach work in creating chances is quite good but the final cross or shot is letting us down. Keep working hard at training boys and listen to your mentors.

Boys U12s: Killarney Athletic B 0 v 2 Fenit B (Scorers: Josh , Luke McCann)
On Saturday 1st March our U12 Div.1 team played Killarney Athletic B in Woodlawn. With the recent weather the pitch was a bit soft, but our boys got to grips with the conditions from the kick off. Plenty of running and good movement from the midfield pairing of Garrett and Cian, our wingers Tomás and Luke and Padraig up front put the Killarney defence under pressure and created a few half-chances including a couple of corners in the opening minutes. At the other end Killarney broke away a few times but their attacks were quickly mopped up by Eoin, Josh and Eddie, with Luke racing off his line to close down any ball that beat our defence and making a couple of brilliant saves. Meanwhile Leighton, who is out due to injury but still travelled to the game to support his team mates, played a blinder as linesman! Well done Leighton. Jack and Eoghan came in mid-way through the first half and continued to put pressure on the Killarney defence, resulting in a corner for Fenit. A great delivery from the corner flag by Cian resulted in the ball dropping into the Killarney box and a very brave header from Josh to the back of the net. This left the score at 1-0 at the half-time whistle. The second half contuinued in the same vain with Fenit having most of the posession and creating plenty of chances. Padraig was reintroduced up front in the second half and held the ball up very well allowing us to break forward and create more chances with a few of his shots saved or going narrowly wide. Mid-way through the second half Padraig won the ball in the Killarney half, raced forward and played in Luke to slot the ball home past the Killarney keeper. 2-0 to Fenit. The boys continued to attack and defend very well to create more chances and protect their lead. The game finished on a scoreline of Killarney Athletic B 0 Fenit Samphires B 2. Another solid performance from this young team. Well done again boys.
