Mens Division 4 Final: Samphires ‘B’ 3 v 0 Atletico Ardfert (Scorers:Billy Walsh(2), Michael O’Brien)
Campiones!! Samphires ‘B’ team secured the Division 4 League honours with a comprehensive victory over neighbours Ardfert at a windy KDL on Sunday evening last. Playing into a stiff breeze in the first half, we immediately set the tempo with a crisp passing game and were well in control of proceedings before Billy Walsh netted after 15 minutes, following a fine cross from Michael O’Brien. One down, Ardfert pressed and did have a couple of half chances off set pieces but Fenit’s young defence marshalled expertly by elder statesman Ruairi Kelly were otherwise dominant in general play. We made it 2 nil when Michael O’ Brien curled a beauty to the top corner after 35 minutes giving their keeper no chance. With the elements at our back, we started sloppily in the early exchanges of the second half. Ardfert came closest to scoring, when a powerful free kick outside Samphires box cannoned off the crossbar, after 55 minutes. We settled after this and also came close to extending our lead when Gearoid Savage’s two fine efforts in quick succession hit the Ardfert left upright and again minutes later struck the crossbar. Billy Walsh made sure of the win when he eluded multiple tackles outside and inside Ardfert’s box to tuck it away to the right corner, to wild celebrations from the Fenit faithful. Team: David Chute, Oran Murphy, Brian O’Conner, Ruairi Kelly, Gearoid O’Connor, Sean Dowling (Capt.) Billy Walsh, Michael O’Brien, Joe Carmody ( Luke Murphy 58 mins) Conor Lenihan ( David O’Brien 67 mins) Gearoid Savage. Management: Jack Kelleher, John Chute, John Moran

Boys U11s: U11 Samphires “Black” 3 vs 0 Ballyhar “Green” (Scorers: Ruadhan Lawlor(2), Leighton Murphy)
Our U11s played Ballyhar in the final of the John Dowling bowl competition last Sunday morning in Celtic Park in Killarney. We started strongly with a fantastic goal from Ruadhan. However Ballyhar were getting more into the game before half time but our goalkeeper Ben and our defence kept it at 1-0 for half time. The match was getting nervy as the 2nd half progressed but two quick fire goals from Ruadhan and Leighton confirmed us as the winners of the bowl final.
A fantastic performance by everyone who left everything out on the pitch and gave a brilliant team performance as it has been throughout the season. A fantastic way to end off the season. Thanks to Ballyhar for a great game and for Killarney Celtic for hosting. Squad: Ben Teahan, Darragh O’ Connor, Jonjoe Kee, Michael Pierce, Cillian Hanafin, Ruadhan Lawlor, Alan Fitzgerald (C), Leighton Murphy).

Girls U15s: Well done to Sadhbh Dowling who was part of the Kerry Schoolboys & Girls League U15 Girls team who recorded an emphatic 5-0 win over Sligo/Leitrim in todays U15 Girls All Ireland Trophy Final. Sadhbh represented her club and county with pride. Well done Sadhbh!
Senior Men: Celsius Menswear Challenge Cup Semi Final
Samphires A 0 v 2 Tralee Dynamos B
We played Dynamos again last Friday night in Tralee in a cup semi final, a repeat of the fixture from 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately, the result was the same as in our last match. Again, we had as much ball as our opponents but we failed to create many good chances and we will have to improve on this for next season in Premier B. Our general play has been quite good and so has our defending this season, so we won’t be starting from scratch. Also, well done to our Senior B team and management, who have secured promotion to Divison 3 next season.
Girls U13s:Samphires 2 v 3 Camp (Scorers: )

Boys U11s: Our U11 boys Green team were involved in the KSBGL U11 Boys John Dowling Memorial Boys Shield Final at St Brendans Park yesterday evening just coming up short in an epic battle against Park. Our lads showed great determination, heart and skill to play their part in a great match. Thanks to the referee and Park for a sporting game and parents for their support. Well done boys!

Our U10 Boys finished off their 24/25 season last night in Tralee contesting the final of the John O’Flynn Memorial Shield versus Killarney Athletic. The Samphires boys were within seconds of securing the shield victory but an injury time goal took the contest to extra time and eventually a penalty shoot out which Killarney won. A brilliant performance from our boys to finish off what has been a remarkable year for this group. Sincere thanks to all of the coaches who have supported this team all season and to the parents who once again last night provided plenty of support from the sidelines.
