Mens Seniors: Strand Rd 0 v 8 Samphires (Scorers: Donagh O Brien (3), Hugh O Callaghan, Dylan Flynn (3))
Our Senior A team got their first win of the season in emphatic fashion this morning in Mounthak Park. We didn’t have to wait long to open the scoring as Donagh O’Brien latched onto Jesse Stafford Laceys through ball to finish calmly to put us ahead within 2 minutes. We continued to dominate after the opener and Donagh doubled his tally as he tapped in Keavan McElligots cutback. We finished the half as Donagh completed his hat trick with another cool finish from another inch perfect Jesse through ball.
We continued to assert our dominance in the second half as Hugh O’Callaghan sailed a sumptuous free kick into the far left corner from the right corner of the box. We were soon 5 up when substitute Dylan Flynn was fastest to react to a rebound from Billy Walshs shot. Donagh would go on to turn provider as he laid one on a plate for Dylan to get his second and Fenits 6th. If that wasn’t enough the supporters definitely got their money worth when Dylan’s exquisite volleyed through ball cut open to Strand Road defence to return the favour for Donagh to finish past the helpless Strand Road keeper . Dylan capped off a 20 minute caemo for the books when he struck home a late penalty a few minutes before the full time whistle to complete his hat trick.
Hopefully we can build on this complete performance and use it as a marker for the rest of the season.
Mens Seniors:CS Abbeydorney 0 v 1 Samphires (Scorer: Charlie Nolan)
Well done to our Mens senior B team last weekend who eked out a narrow victory last weekend. We scored very early through young Charlie Nolan who got his first goal for the seniors and though it was nip and tuck throughout, we held out for the 3 points.

Women Social Soccer: Our Social Soccer team took part in a 7 aside blitz hosted by KDL on Saturday evening. Great display by all! Training continues in Ardfert Recreation Centre Thursdays 8-9pm
Girls U16s: Killarney Ath 6 v 2 Samphires (Scorer Erin Harty(2))
We came up against a very good Athletic team last Saturday in Killarney. Overall we played pretty well but we probably need to be a bit braver when we get the ball and try to keep possession a bit longer than we do. From the point of view of winning tackles, we probably didn’t deserve to concede 6, but Athletic’s combination play caught us out a few times so hopefully we will improve on our defensive shape and keeping the ball. Well done though to all the girls for keeping going to the end.

U15 Boys: Bridge Celtic 1 v 2 Samphires (Scorers: Evan Diggins Cian Slattery)
On a very tight pitch we dominated posession and chances and the goal came from a fantastic move involving most of the team finished emphatically by Evan Diggin on 15 mins. We conceded a penalty and against the run of play Bridge got one back to finish the first half 1-1. The second half followed the same course as the first and despite every effort we could not get ahead until Cian Slattery turned onto his right 10 yards outside the box and with a peach of a strike put us ahead on the 63rd minute. Strong performance by the entire 18 lads.
Girls U14s: Samphires 0 v 6 Mastergeeha
Hard luck to our 14s last weekend. We were stretched personnel wise, missing a few girls but those who played, did very well and never gave up. With the bare 11, we tired as the game went on and our opponents took full advantage but overall it was a competitive game. Well done to both teams for such a good contest.

U14 Boys: Samphires B 2 v 7 Milltown (Scorers: Sean Collins, Eoghan Farrelly)
We played against a well organised and pacey Milltown FC on Thursday evening in tough conditions. This group of lads are just settling as a team and they played some lovely football in parts. There was plenty of signs of improvement and encouraging passages of play. Great goal by Sean Collins one of the new joiners this season rifling in from edge of box into top corner. Eoghan Farrelly with a good poachers goal for second Well done everyone.
U13s Boys: Samphires 1 v 0 Carrig Celtic (Scorer: Kian Skretny)

Well done to our U13A team boys who secured there place in Rd 2 of the National Cup.
A good result for Samphires U13A’s in a tight contest. First half was even with few chances and some poor passing in windy conditions. We improved in the 2nd half and got on top with some better passing. We hit the post from Cian O’Sullivan and had a few other chances before Kian came up from the back and despatched a shot into the top corner. We could have scored a few more but held on to get the win. Improvement needed in decision making and passing at times but great effort and determination from all.
U12 Boys: Tralee Dynamos A 7 v 4 Samphires B
As you would think, it was an all action game with every player doing their bit. From the off it was difficult to see any pattern as to who would be dominant as both teams were on top at different times. Our boys will have to improve defensively but a good performance overall.
