Girls U16s: Inter Kenmare 8 v 1 Samphires (Scorer: Erin Harty)
We travelled to Kenmare for an early kick off last Saturday to play the table toppers and though the scoreline doesn’t reflect well on us, we did quite well in most of the game. Kenmare were superior in most aspects of the game and in particular, their ability to support their player in possession. We had a poor 10 minutes in the middle of the first half where we conceded 3 goals in quick succession but bar that we were competitive throughout. Well done to Kenmare and tough as it was for us, it was a good learning experience.
Boys U15s: Iveragh A 2 v 3 Samphires A (Scorers: Cian Slattery, Jack Corridan, Evan Diggin)
Fantastic performance from the u15 boys to come from 2-0 down at half time away to league leaders Iveragh. Goals from Cian Slattery, Jack Corridan and winner from Evan Diggin in the 64th minute lead to a nervy last 10 minutes of play.
Boys U13s: Camp A v Samphires A
Girls U12s: Samphires 2 v 0 Charleville AFC (Scorers: Annabelle Rolls, Zoey McCarthy)
A cracking win for the U12 Girls against a very competitive Charleville AFC.
Led from the front by captain Annabelle Rolls with an inspiring team talk that set the tone, the team held its shape on a tricky surface with Lauren Cashell-Lowe and Siún O’Donnell calmly taking the ball out of danger and into attack.
Saoirse Stack was absolutely everywhere, protecting the back 2 and launching the forwards.
Annabelle Rolls slotted home the opener for the second game in a row, and then Zoey McCarthy finished off a cracking move to give us a two goal cushion which sees us through to the 3rd round of the National Trophy.
Thanks to Charleville for making a great day of it, and thanks to all the parents who supported the team and provided the catering.
