Senior Men: Castlegregory Celtic A 1 v 1 Samphires (Scorer Billy Walsh)
Our Senior A team had to settle for a share of the points after a hard-fought 1–1 draw with Castlegregory Celtic A, a game that very much felt like one of two contrasting halves. Castlegregory took a 1–0 lead into the break, capitalising on a sluggish opening 45 minutes from Fenit. We struggled to find any rhythm early on, and Castlegregory made the most of their opportunity and edged in front. The second half was a different story. We emerged with renewed energy and purpose, dominating possession and pushing the visitors back for long spells. Our pressure was rewarded with a well-worked equaliser down the left flank: Rory Boyd slipped a perfectly weighted pass in behind the Castlegregory defence for Bill Mullins, who squared across goal for Billy Walsh to finish at the back post. We continued to press for a winner but despite creating a few promising chances we just couldn’t find a finishing touch. At the other end, goalkeeper Paddy O’Sullivan produced multiple crucial saves to ensure we remained level, showcasing sharp reflexes and excellent positioning when called upon. In the end, our second-half display deserved at least the point earned with the improved performance after the break offering plenty to build on for the games ahead.
Mens Seniors: Atletico Ardfert 2 v 2 Samphires B (Scorers Luke Murphy, Oran Murphy)
It was a match between 2 evenly matched teams in poor weather conditions. In the end it was probably a fair result though both teams can argue the case thet they should have won. We opened the scoring through Luke Murphy in the first half and we could have added to this lead. Then Ardfert came back into it and equalised. They dominated for a time after this and scored again. As the game moved on we forced our way back into the game and we equalised through a superb Oran Murphy free kick to draw the game.

Women Social Soccer: Our Senior Women’s Social soccer group took part in the November mini league blitz last Saturday night in Mounthawk Park. We played against Killarney Athletic, Ballyhar Dynamos and Dingle Bay Rovers and we more than held our own. A big well done to all the girls who took part. We’re always welcoming new players — come join us for some social soccer, fun, and fitness! We train in Ardfert Astro on Thursdays 8–9 PM…no pressure, just good fun and a great run-around.
U16 Boys: Park A 6 v 4 Samphires (Scorers: )
A frenetic game that could have gone either way, like our 15s game against the same opposition last week. This time we came out on the wrong side of the result. Our defending was obviously not of the standard required and, like many teams in the club, we can be creative with the ball but we will have to put more time into how we defend as well as how we attack.
U14 Boys: Rathkeale 6 v 2 Samphires (Scorer: Conor Walshe)
A poor defensive performance in the middle of the pitch cost us dearly against a good Rathkeale team. We will have to address how we defend in midfield in the weeks coming up. Our back 4 did well to keep our opponents at bay for the most of the game. In contrast, our midfield were good in possession, we did well enough going forward and did create a good few chances. Hope we will see everybody during the week at training.
U14 Boys: Samphires B 0 v 2 Killorglin C
Really well done to the lads last Saturday morning…while we conceded two 2nd half goals we competed well throughout and played some lovely football. However the best part was how the lads behaved in the face of a lot of aggression from the opposition..they stood up well and played for each other as a team..never getting involved with the silly stuff… it will stand to them. Special mention to Caelan and Josh making their debuts and playing really well and to Davide how was brilliant in midfield and was the target of a lot of overly aggressive tackles… Training again Thursday.

U9 Girls: Well done to our u9 girls who played against LB Rovers in Ardfert this afternoon. Some great skills on show from both teams despite the cold weather! Training continues on Monday evening at 6pm in Ardfert – new players interested in joining are more than welcome!
