Christmas Quiz: Thanks so much to all who supported our Annual Christmas Quiz last Monday evening. It was a great success. A big shout out too to our Women’s Social Soccer team who hosted the event and did such a great job. Finally, we wish a Happy New Year to all our players, coaches, parents and supporters.

Girls U16s: Listowel Celtic 0 v 1 Samphires (Scorer: Fiadh Nelan)
A tight game decided by a goal from Fiadh after being put through by Clodagh in the first half. The game was played in the right spirit by both teams and chances were at a premium. Listowel’s keeper and our 2 keepers, Sarah and Ella-Mai all had excellent performances and denied their opponents the odd time anyone got within range of goal. Both defences were on top generally except near the end when the game got frenetic with Listowel seeking an equaliser and us countering to good effect. Well done to both squads who put on a good game in wintry conditions.
Boys U15s: Samphires 6 v 0 Camp (Scorers: Cormac Lawlor(3), Shea Gilligan, Jack Corridon, Cian Slattery)
A very good win by our lads at home to Camp early last Saturday in a fixture that is usuallly close. Our boys found their rhythm early, scored early and kept it going for the game. Hopefully we will carry on with this type of performance regularly going forward.
Boys U15s: Samphires B 0 v 6 Killarney Athletic B
A bad day for our lads last weekend. We were all over the place and were put to the sword by a good Athletic team. We need to get back to basics asap.
Girls U14s: Samphires 3 v 4 Killarney Celtic (Scorer Hannah Barrett-Neziri)
Hard luck to the girls on a narrow defeat last Saturday. Hannah got all 3 goals for us but all our team played well. Special mention to Julie O’Dowd in goals who made some great saves including a penalty.
Boys U13s: Killorglin 3 v 5 Samphires (Scorers: Eoghan Gilligan(3), Aron Keating(pen), Cian Sullivan)
A super victory by our lads who got back to winning ways. Our offensive play was very good and we created quite a number of chances. We will have to improve defensively as we conceded 2 very soft goals but overall a good start to the New Year.
Boys U13s: Samphires B 3 v 0 Tralee Dynamos B
Girls U12s: Camp 0 v 0 Samphires
A proper Premier League game today played in difficult conditions with two very evenly matched teams going head to head.
Aisling Lawlor did a great job as captain leading by example, Eimear O’Sullivan was a constant threat and Siun O’Donnell marshalled the defence as Camp built the pressure late on.
Both teams had chances to win it but would have been tough on either side to lose.
Thanks to all the supporters who braved the cold.
Girls U11s: We travelled all the way into Tralee last weekend to play Park. We saw a very decent performance from our girls who are putting into practice what they are learning in training. Well done all and keep it up.
