U12s Pipped At The Post

Last Saturday the Under 12s lost narrowly 4-3 to a very strong Kenmare side. Fenit started very brightly with dominating possession and creating a few very good chances but got punished for not converting with a well worked goal from a counter attack from kenmare. From here on we kept pushing and pushing for that equaliser but again failed to convert chances and again were punished with another goal on the counter attack. Finally We got a well deserved goal from an excellent free kick from the ever reliable Dara Heim. Teams went in 2-1 at the half but both teams knew it was a game that could go either way. Start of the second half Fenit were caught napping and punished with another well worked Kenmare goal. We responded well though with a very good individual run from Edward Stack topped off with a sublime finish. After this it seemed an equaliser would be inevitable but were very unlucky to not convert a few chances hitting the crossbar and post. Once again what would be the theme of the day we were punished by another kenmare goal on the counter attack which would put the game out of reach with only 5 minutes left. Credit to Fenit players who pushed and pushed up until the last minute and were awarded with a great goal from Oisin Horgan. Credit to both teams for a very entertaining encounter. Best for Fenit were Sean Vieux, Dara Heim and Conor Gaynor.
