Our Youth team made the journey to town last weekend to play the Park in the league. It was a tough day for our lads and we ended up losing on a scoreline of 5 -1. For most of the game we were defending and even though we were game, our basics let us down too often and we let a good Park team dominate too easily in our own half. This is usually a strength of ours but on this occasion we failed to push on to our opponents quickly enough and we lost our shape too easily at times. To compound things, when we did get possession we surrendered it far too easily too often. On the credit side of the ledger our lads kept going to the end and did create a number of chances. We were rewarded with a late goal from Oisin O’Brien who scored a superb solo effort. Our better players on the day were Eoghan O’Brien in goals, Jamie Hogan and Thomas Dwyer at the back, David Murphy in midfield and Oisin up front.
