Seniors: Samphires 1 v 6 Killarney Celtic (Scorer Oisin O’Brien)

Our senior team lost badly last weekend to a strong Killarney Celtic team. We were overpowered in the first half going in 5 nil down at the interval. We regained some pride in the second half when we got up to speed but too late. Our scorer was Oisin O’Brien.

U16 Boys: Killarney Athletic 1 v 0 Samphires

The 16s were unfortunate not to get out of this fixture with a point but in a game where both teams cancelled each other out, it was Athletic who took one of their chances and we didn’t. Our team can be happy with their overall performance though as we brought intensity to the game which wasn’t always there in previous games.

U14 Boys: Park B 8 v 1 Samphires (Scorers Paddy Falvey)

The 14s had a very bad day at the office last Saturday in Tralee. We started well and went 1 nil up and should have added to our tally. Midways through the first half we conceded a goal and then another almost immediately. We failed to deal with what was being thrown at us for the rest of the game and the Park were deserving winners. Best for us were Will Bellchambers and Tiernan O’Sullivan.

U12 Girls: Samphires 3 – 2 Camp Juniors. (Aleshia Deady(3))

Well done to the girls 12s who had a fine win at home to Camp last Saturday. It was 1:1 in first half after being 1 nil down. 2 more goals for Fenit in second half gave us the victory over a determined Camp team who also scored another to leave it 3-2 to us at the end, all our goals coming from Aleshia Deady but it was a great performance from all the team.

Best for Samphires: Meah Carmody, Sarah O’ Sullivan & Aleshia Deady.

Samphires U12s vs Kill Celtic B

U12 Boys:Killarney Celtic B 0 v 6 Samphires (Scorers Aaron Harty(2),Jayden Deady(2), Cian McKenna, Kealen O’Dowd)

Our U12A team played away to Killarney Celtic B last Saturday. This was our first match on AstroTurf and a strong Killarney Celtic team. From the kick off Celtic played very defensively and were hard to break down. We had the majority of possession but couldn’t deliver the final pass. Eventually after 20 mins Jayden Deady played a lovely through ball to Aaron Harty to finally beat the Celtic defence. Again we pushed up and a lovely move between Tom Quilter, Cian McKenna and Kealen O’Dowd put Jayden through who had a beautiful shot into the top corner. Celtic started to push up but the our defence was on top form where Jack Nolan and Dominic Regan were outstanding. The 2nd half saw much the same with Fenit always looking for the 3rd. Celtic tired and Fenit put in two quick goals between Aaron and Jayden. Cian and Kealan added another two after some good pressure. Overall a satisfying victory, 6 nil to the Samphires.

U12 Boys:Ballyheigue 4 v 0 Samphires B

Even though we lost this game it was possibly the best performance by any of our teams over the weekend where the boys gave absolutely everything they had. Lady Luck didn’t shine on us though, we were careless in front of goal and missed quite a number of chances. But a massive improvement since the last few games with all the players outstanding, showing great skill and effort throughout. Well done boys.
