Our Under 12A Boys travelled to Camp on Monday 24th August to play a friendly match on foot of a generous invite from Mike Doyle of Camp Juniors FC. It was this team’s first outing this season. During the first quarter we were under enormous pressure from a very well drilled and organised Camp side.
After seven minutes Fenit were two nil down, and chasing shadows. Our goal Keeper Austin Donnelan was amazing: pulling off a few spectacular saves in quick succession. Our lack of soccer training told, and it wasn’t until the second quarter that the boys settled down and started to feel comfortable in attack and defence. We bounced back with three goals thanks to Mikey Corridan and Dara Harty. At half time the rain started to fall but the quality of football remained good. During the last two quarters each team had their periods of dominance with goals for Fenit coming from Robert O’Shea, Evan Lyons and Cillian O’Brien.
All in all a wonderful evening of soccer, with valued experience gained for both teams in the early season.

All the best to all Samphires girls and boys who are starting school in the coming days. Remember for the moment we must social distance, wash the hands and wear masks where necessary.

Training is starting up for all teams in the coming weeks so managers will be in contact. New players welcome.
