Seniors: Samphires 5 v 2 Ratoo Rovers (Scorers Ger McCarthy(4), Oisin O’Brien)

Our senior mens team had a decent 5 – 2 win against Ratoo last Sunday morning. We were reasonably on top for much of the game but will be disappointed with the goals we gave up. Ger Mac was on fire scoring 4 goals with Oisin O’Brien getting the other one but again everyone there did their bit. Welcome back too to David O’Sullivan. Well done boys…let’s see ye all at training again during the week.

Girls U14s: Killarney Celtic 2 v 3 Samphires (Scorers Alisha Deady(2), Neasa Kirby)

Our U14s Girls travelled to Killarney Celtic on Saturday afternoon. Both teams were really evenly matched and they served a great game. Captain Alisha Deady opened the scoring for Fenit with a really goalscorer’s finish when she calmly rounded the keeper and slotted home. She soon followed with a second. Neasa Kirby from the u12 making her debut for this team scored a great goal from edge of box. Killarney replied with a goal leaving it 3 – 1 at half time. The wind played a huge factor in 2nd half and we were under pressure from a very strong Killarney team. We conceded a 2nd but the girls fought hard all over pitch and came away with the points. Thanks to Killarney for such a sporting game and the parents for the support of the girls.

Samphires U13 vs Killarney Athletic Apr 22

Boys U13s: Samphires 5 v 1 Killarney Athletic (Scorers: Mikey Corridan (2), Cillian O’Brien, Dara Harty, Austin Donnellan)
A good win for Fenit against a battling Killarney Athletic team. Killarney started the brightly and played some lovely football – our passing was sloppy at times and we were struggling to get into the game but we scored after 15 minutes on a quick break down the right with a fine Mikey Corridan finish from a Dara Harty cross.
Killarney were putting on the pressure but our defence was strong with Diarmuid Murphy outstanding at centre half. We scored again through a shot from Cillian O’Brien from the edge of the box which crept in the corner. Mikey Corridan added a third just before the break with a lovely run and finish to leave it 3-0 at half-time.
2nd half Killarney began to tire a little and we scored twice more with a long range free from Dara Harty and a lovely team goal with Austin Donnellan scoring at the back post.
Man of the match for Fenit Dairmuid Murphy at centre-half.

Girls U12s v Castleisland Apr 22

Girls U12s: Samphires 0 v 1 Castleisland

A super performance by our team today that didn’t deserve the end result. Dominated in large parts with everyone from back to front playing very well. One more league game to go👍⚽

Boys U12s v Ballyheigue Apr 22

Boys U12s: Ballyheigue 1 v 4 Samphires (Scorers Jack Corridan, Danny Gazi(2), Cillian O’Brien)

Our 12’s returned to league action today in a local Derby away to Ballyheigue. Ballyheigue started the game impressively and were in control for a lot of the first half. As usual our defence were resolute and we scored a great break away goal by Jack Corridan to lead at half time 1-0. The 2nd half was a completely different game with Fenit now taking complete control – Danny Gazi and Cillian O’Brien dominated midfield and more goals followed 2 from Danny Gazi and 1 from Cillian O’Brien – Ballyheigue hit back with one goal in the dying minutes. A great performance from the lads as they extend their unbeaten run at the top of the table. MOTM Danny Gazi

Boys U11s v Killorglin March 22

Boys U11s: Our u11s had an early start on Saturday morning when they played Killorglin. We had 3 u10s line up and Ben, Daniel and Sean played great. All the lads did really well and thanks to Killorglin for the sporting game.
Next up is the quarter finals for both u11 squads.
