Samphires 1994-95
Samphires Senior Team 1994-95

Samphires would like to send deepest condolences to the family of Jason Burke who passed away recently. Jason played for us in our early days in the 90s and was an intelligent and athletic offensive midfielder/forward for us, regularly on the scoresheet. He was always interested in how the club was getting on and continued to support the club after his playing days. He is pictured here 3rd from the left, front row. Ar dheis Dé lena anam dilís.

Boys U13s: Dingle Bay Rovers 4 v 3 Samphires(Scorers: Conor Stack, Adam Fitzgerald, Evan Neary (pen))

Our Boys U13B team played a 2nd v 3rd playoff game in Dingle last weekend. It was a game that swung both ways as the game went on and it was clear that it was going to be a high scoring game. Though we did well with the ball, creating lots of chances, when Dingle attacked us with purpose, we had trouble dealing with through balls. A goal early in the game and another with the last attack gave Dingle the edge in an entertaining game. Well done to all our lads for the season they put in and we hope to see them again next August.

Girls U12s Community Games

Girls U12s Community Games: Well done to our U12 Girls Soccer team, who finished 4th in the Community Games in Camp on Sunday.  We were drawn in a tough group with Kenmare and Castleisland, but got off to a great start with a 3-0 win over Kenmare.  This was followed by a tense 1-1 draw with Castleisland, and we then had to replay Castleisland in a playoff to decide who would make the Gold Medal Final. Unfortunately, we lost out by 1-0, with Castleisland scoring impressively from a freekick. In the 3rd/4th place playoff we came up just short against Ballyduff, losing 2-1.

Thanks to Camp for hosting a very enjoyable morning for the girls.
