Safeguarding Message from the League to all Clubs…
As from the start of next season in order for clubs to play in leagues, all clubs must have the Club Mark. That is either Club Mark Entry Level, Club Mark 1 Star or Club Mark 2 Star. This is a rule that has been added to FAI Rules. At present out of 22 Clubs in KSBGL we have 13 clubs who have achieved a Club Mark, well done to all those Clubs for achieving the Club Mark. We have 7 clubs who are in the process but need to get it over the line, 1 club who has not started and another club who is amalgamating. For Club’s to finish and achieve the Club Mark before the new season please contact Peter Murphy, FAI.
Yours in Sport,Jane, Secretary, KSBGL

Men Seniors: Samphires B 1 v 3 Dingle Bay Rovers (Scorer: Conor Lenihan)
Our senior men’s B team had a great match vs Premier team, Dingle Bay Rovers in the cup last weekend. It was 1 all after 90 after a ding-dong battle but Dingle scored first in extra time and this gave them the win. However, it was great to see how well our boys did and that we are getting back to our best.

U16 Girls LB Rovers 6 v 3 Samphires (Scorers: Aoibhinn Corridon (2), Roisin Rice)
Our last league game ended up in a defeat but we held our heads up high in this game. It was well contested all through with LB causing us trouble with some good through balls and shots from the outside the box. After 20 minutes we found ourselves 3 down and it looked like curtains but a goal from Aoibhinn just before half time gave us hope. They scored again straight from the kick off but we responded with another by Aoibhinn from another through ball. It was stretched at this point and every break could have ended with a goal but for some last minute defending by both teams. 1 more goal by each team, ours by Roisin with a powerful drive from 25 yards, left it 6-3 to our opponents. Well done to all our girls who kept it going for the whole season since last August. Though we didn’t win too many matches, our players have improved throughout the year and can be proud of their efforts.
U15 Boys Ballyhar 1 v 6 Samphires (Scorers: Jack Corridon (2) ,Evan Neary, Cormac Lawlor, Cody Deady, Zach Kearney)
A 6-1 away win vs Ballyhar for the U15 boys last Sunday in blustery conditions. We were on top throughout and our fellas are finding their feet now and playing with confidence. So well done to all and let’s keep going right to the end.
U13 Boys Iveragh 3 v 2 Samphires (Scorers: Aron Keating (pen), Luke Doherty)
We lost out narrowly against a good Iveragh team. Our team gives up goals too easily though and it was the case again last weekend. We do play a good game with the ball and are generally competitive but a greater deal of attention has to be paid to the defensive side of the game.
U12 Girls Samphires 4 v 3 Camp B (Scorers: Emma Barrett(3), Eimear O’Sullivan)
A great performance today in the Cup, really committed performances from every single player in the squad. We got off to a fast start and got two goals on the board early on, but Camp gradually got going and came back into the game but we kept our noses in front throughout.
Very hard to single anyone out, Captain Siun was a rock at the back and Grace provided great back up. Eilín and Eimear were everywhere and Eimear scored a great goal when we needed it. Up front Amelia was full of running, and Emma delivered on all of the team’s great passing with a match-winning hat trick.
So we proceed into the next round of the Cup, likely March 14th tbc, and it’s knock out football from here!

U11 Boys: Our Boys U11 As finished their phase 2 games with a Friday night fixture at Killarney Athletic. Recovering well from early pressure the boys put in a huge performance and finished strongly, wrapping up a superb Phase 2 programme. Well done to all players and coaches and thanks to Killarney for hosting.
