Great Display By U11s

Our Under 11s played host to Asdee last Saturday on a very wet day.4 weeks ago we travelled to Asdee to play the same team and suffered a heavy defeat but since then the lads have knuckled down at training under Ciaran and Cathal and the results were clear to see. Our team gave a great account of themselves from start to finish and ended up narrow 3-2 losers in a match we might have drawn if our finishing was a small bit better. Both teams had a good shape about them, both teams playing a 3-3-2 format in this 9-a-side league. We tried out Niall Cassidy and Conor Lenihan  in goals and both brought off some great saves. At the back we had Billy Daly,Conor Gaynor, Sean Hurley and Adam Dolan – all 4 were rock solid, conceded few chances and started many attacks. In midfield Dara Heim, Podge O’Sullivan and Conor Lenihan did very well holding their own against a midfield that steamrolled us a month ago. Up front we tried out Edward Stack, Paddy Walsh and Ciaran Tuite, all of whom were dangerous throughout.A great performance by all the lads and we hope to improve even more over the next weeks and months. Thanks too to all the parents who supported and were very appreciative of the effort put in by our lads.

Again we would appeal to boys in the Fenit-Churchill parish and the Ardfert parish who are interested in playing soccer to contact us as we are on the lookout for players to add to our squad( boys born in 2002 and 2003 play at Under 11 level)-please see our website(http://fenitsamphires.com/contact-us/) for contact details – we train one evening a week and play every second or third Saturday from now till next May.
