Girls U17s: Samphires  0 v 2 Inter Kenmare

The Girls 17s lost out to Kenmare in a tight game last sat in a gale force wind. The match was even throughout but our opponents were a little bit sharper on the ball and with 10 minutes left they capitalised on a loose pass just outside our box and 2 passes later we were 1 down. Despite our best efforts to find an equaliser, it was beyond us in the conditions and with us being thin at the back Kenmare scored another on the counter. Our girls can be happy with the performance though with some excellent performances all through the team.

Boys U17s: Ratoo Rovers 0 v 2 Fenit (Eoin Walsh (2))

Great team performance. Defence was solid – Paddy Walsh and Ben Donnellan (2 centre backs) very strong. Great game also by Mark Brick at left back. Midfield and wingers worked hard to get good crosses into the box. Eoin Walsh scored both goals and his move from centre back to striker is paying dividends with 3 goals in two games. He gets a well deserved man of the match. Good performances from all the team.

Boys U15s: Samphires  1 v 1 Dingle Bay Rovers (Scorer Oran Murphy)

The Boys U15s drew 1-1 vs Dingle Bay Rovers, hit by a sucker punch equaliser in injury time in the end. We were very disappointed after a truly tremendous performance by all the lads, should have led at halftime, after having the the wind in our favour. Óran Murphy put us ahead after some good work by Donagh Murphy before an equaliser at the death levelled for the visitors.  Best for Fenit were Tomas Godley, Luke Casey and Gearoid O’Connor.

Girls U13s: Listowel 5 v 0 Samphires

Great game away to Listowel for the girls black team. Listowel are a fantastic side and in the end they beat us 5-0. Anna Chute gave an exemplary performance in goals and Elisa Deady was super outfield. This side is getting better each week so keep it up girls.

Team green had a fantastic match at home against league leaders LB Rovers. The last time we met LB Rovers they won  5 – 0 this time score was 1 – 3 with Siofra Murphy on the scoresheet for Fenit, however we missed a few great opportunities in the second half to level. Our girls are really coming together as a team as we were missing 3 or 4 of our players today. Every girl gave their very best and we had some great individual performances. …. these girls are improving every week … keep it up ⚽⚽⚽

Boys U13s: Samphires  1 v 3 Tralee Dynamos (Scorer Cian McKenna)

A defeat for our boys against high flying Dynamos but it was up in the air right to the end with Dynamos scoring their 3rd in injury time. We will take take confidence from the performance as we were competitive throughout and everyone played their part. Thanks especially to Lilly Nowak and Darragh Harty who bailed us out as we were 1 or 2 short on the day. They were excellent throughout and expended a lot of energy even though they both had another match later on in the day.

Boys U11s:

On Saturday the 7th December, we travelled away to Mastergeeha soccer club. The conditions were just right, and we managed to avoid any inclement weather. We had two teams participating, and two very hard fought matches. During parts of the games, there was wonderful soccer on show with good periods of possession and accurate passing. The stand out players included Seaney Feehan, Tadgh Diggins, Alan O’Connor, Mickey Corridan, Dara Harty and Killian O’Brien. Our defensive efforts also very good with great determination shown by all Samphires players in getting back to their positions. All in all a good trip to South Kerry with lots of lessons learned.

Boys U9s:

Our U9s played Park in Tralee on Saturday afternoon. We had two teams and each played two games. The lads really enjoyed themselves with everyone getting plenty of game time. Great skills and some tough tackling on display. Well done all. Thanks to our hosts St Brendan’s Park who we welcome to Samphire Park early in the new year.
