Boys U16s

Samphires 2 vs 0 Dingle (Scorers Rory Boyd, Noah Townsend)
Excellent start to the league campaign by Fenit, who thoroughly deserved this victory over rivals Dingle. Samphires work rate, pace of play, and quality of passing was top notch, with 2nd half goals by Rory Boyd and Noah Townsend after some clever interplay through the midfield for both goals sealing the win. Samphires might have scored more on another day. Best for Fenit were Jerh Brosnan, Gearóid O’Connor, Ethan Gaisey, Michael Tansley and Billy Doyle but everyone who was on the pitch played their part.

Boys U14

Samphires 4 vs 0 Park (Scorers Aaron Harty (2), Cian McKenna(2))

A good start to the season for the 14s with a good display to boot which was founded on a decent defensive effort on a sunny but windy day in Fenit. Thanks especially to Jevan Carey who stepped into goals as our regular keeper Jack O’Dwyer was injured. Our midfield too competed quite well and linked the defence with the attack quite skilfully. At times we committed too many players to attack but Jack McCarthy and Dominick Regan at centre back dealt ably with the breaks. The lads up front were busy throughout, always looking for a gap in behind a tough Park back line but we moved the ball well on both wings at times causing problems. We rotated players as the game went on and everyone who came on the field did their bit for the cause. Our first 2 scores came in the first 5 minutes of both halves. We added a third midway through the second half and a 4th near the end. Well done to both teams who served up such a good game.

Boys U12

Our Under 12 Division 2 North team took on Camp Juniors FC in Camp on Saturday last. From the outset we were down to eight players due to illness. Camp opened the scoring with three fine goals in the opening quarter, and if it were not for Gabriel making a half dozen superb saves the deficit could have been worse. The first half finished Camp 3 Fenit 0. In the third quarter our boys started to play some wonderful soccer, the passing was direct, and finally we produced three wonderful goals from our man of the match Conor Nolan. Again we started slowly, and came into the game in the second half, which means that we are fighting to retake leads from behind, In the end Camp won 7-3, but a very promising performance from an up and coming team.
