U13 Boys Samphires 3 vs 2 Mastergeeha
Scorers: 2 x Mike Corridan , 1 Michael O’Sullivan
A great win for Samphires despite a disjointed performance at times. Once again we started poorly and gave away a sloppy goal in the first few minutes. We fought back however and scored through Mikey Corridan after good work from Evan Lyons and Michael O’Sullivan. We then went 2-1 in front after a cross from Michael O’Sullivan looped in over the goalkeeper. However we were struggling to keep the ball and our passing was poor. We conceded before half-time after indecision in midfield handed Mastergeeha the ball back and they played in their centre forward to finish. 2-2 at half-time.
Second half we were good in terms of battling and competing for the ball but our passing and decision making was poor at times. There were chances for both sides before Mikey Corridan took advantage of a mistake at the back from Mastergeeha to coolly finish and we held on from here to secure the win. Good battling and determination to win but we have a lot of work to do on retaining possession and passing and creating chances.
Best for Fenit was Dara Harty at centre half.

U12 Boys Samphires 4 v 3 MEK (Scorers: 2 x Mikey Corridan, 2 x Dara Harty(1 x pen))

The U12 premier division team played MEK at home on Monday evening 28th September. It was the team’s first league game, and we were slow out of the blocks as MEK scored three goals in the first fifteen minutes.

But the boys slowly started to impose themselves on the game, tackling and passing became more deliberate, and decision making improved. Before half time we had scored two great goals, and the game was on.

In the third quarter, we manage to bring the game level, and there were periods of dominance by both teams in the final fifteen minutes with chances of goals for both sides.

In the final minute of the game Mikey Corridan was brought down in the box and we were awarded a penalty which Dara Harty converted to finish the game Fenit Samphires 4: MEK 3.

Man of the Match went to Robert OShea in goals, with 100% kick out & pass completion and more than three spectacular saves. Mikey Corridan got two and Dara Harty got two, but huge credit to all the boys to come back from a three nil deficit.

U12 Division 2 North Tralee Dynamos 6 v 2 Samphires (Scorers: Diarmuid Murphy (2))

Our U12 Division 2 North team played Dynamos on Thursday 1st October in the Low Field, Tralee.

It was a real treat for the players to play at the Low Field, the surface was impeccable, and it showed in the quality of the passing throughout the game.

Dynamos got off to a great start with three goals in the first fifteen minutes, on the back of some wonderful creative football. Our boys were a little stunned, but eventually came to grips with the pace of the game.

Just before half time Diarmuid Murphy scored to reduce the deficit. The second half started much the same as Dynamos dominated possession, but Diarmuid Murphy struct again with a fine finish.

Luke Donovan was unlucky not to score, and Conor Nolan almost managed to put one past their keeper. But alas, it was not to be, the game finished 6:2 to Dynamos.

Great energy was shown by all the players, and we are definitely improving with a career best performance from Caelan Tuite.
