Boys U15s: Samphires 3 v 0 Iveragh (Scorers: Gregory Clifford, Cian McKenna, Kealan O’Dowd)

Well done to the 15s who defeated Iveragh in a tough match last Saturday in Fenit. We played well throughout but found it difficult to get past a resolute Iveragh defence. We had a number of narrow misses from Noah, Charlie, Cian and Gregory before Gregory produced a moment magic after 25 minutes when he beat 2 players down the wing and sent his shot into the far top corner to put us 1 up. We came under pressure immediately but our defence held up well and in the second half Cian and Kealan added to our lead to give us the win.

Boys U14s: Samphires 3 v 4 LB Rovers (Scorers: Dara Harty, Evan Lyons and Michael O’Sullivan)
We lost our 2nd game on Saturday with a disappointing defeat to LB Rovers. We started slowly and LB went one up with a well taken goal from their centre forward. We battled back however and started to string some passes together. We equalized through Dara Harty who played really well in midfield. We then scored two in a row through Evan Lyons and Michael O’Sullivan.  We started well in the 2nd half and should have scored 2 more but then got hit with two poor goals from sloppy defensive play. We made a couple of substitutions but seem a little disorganized and gave a away another poor goal from a high cross. We pushed for an equalizer but couldn’t quite get it. We worked really hard but we need to work on our defence. Best for Fenit Dara Harty midfield.

Boys U12s:Samphires 2 v 2 Dingle Bay Rovers (Scorers:Alan O’Connor, Cody Deady)

Our U12’s played our 3rd game of the season at home to Dingle Bay Rovers. After a disappointing first half Dingle led 2-0 at the break. The 2nd half saw us improve significantly putting the visitors under a lot of pressure. With 7 minutes to go we finally got the breakthrough we deserved to pull a goal back and with 3 minutes remaining snatched a deserved equaliser with the final score ending up 2-2. A good overall team performance as we fought right to the end and never gave up – goals scorers on the day Alan O’Connor and Cody Deady

Boys U10s: Last Sunday we hosted LB Rovers in Fenit on a beautiful sunny day. Both clubs brought 3 teams to the pitch, all the games went on at the same time and great soccer was on view with all the teams showing great enthusiasm and no little skill. Well done to all the players and to all the coaches and parents who also helped out.
