Boys U14s: Samphires 1 v 1 Mastergeeha (Scorer: Dara Harty)

A battling performance from the 14s in our final game earned a draw against a physically strong Mastergeeha team. We started brightly and were on the ball and scored a great goal after some nice passing between Sean Cronin, Cillian O’Brien, Luke O’Carroll who fed a through ball for Dara Harty to run on to and finish. Mastergeeha battled back but a strong defence of Paddy Hanafin, Diarmuid Murphy, Sean Cronin and Tiernan O’Keefe held firm aided by some good saves from Gary Egan in goals. 1-0 at half-time.
2nd half we were against the wind and Mastergeeha pushed for an equalizer. Eventually they broke through to equalize. With a number of substitutions we battled back and we started to dominate with our passing with some lovely moves but couldn’t quite get the winner. Good performance from all for the final game of the season. Best for Samphires was Diarmuid Murphy at centre half.

Boys U12s: Samphires 7 v 0 Camp (Scorers: Gary Parker(3), Conor Nolan, Cody Deady (2), Ben Dennehy)

Another great performance from our U12 boys in the Qtr Final of the Shield. Straight from the off our midfield were in complete control and attacked the opposition and it wasn’t long before the deadlock was broken with a quality finish from Gary Parker after a cross from Cillian O’Brien. It was that combination again shortly afterwards that made it 2 – Gary Parker again with the finish. It was all one way traffic now and Gary Parker soon clinched his hat trick, another from Conor Nolan left the HT score 4-0. The second half was a replica of the first with the home side in control and despite some dogged resistance from Camp, the home side in the end added another 3 goals, 2 from Cody Deady and 1 from Ben Dennehy. A wonderful all-round performance from everyone including another clean sheet from our defence. Great stuff boys keep it up !!!
