Fáilte ar ais…. The new season has started for us from smallies up to senior womens’ and mens’ teams and a whole lot in between. Hope the season will go well for everyone. Thanks in advance to all our managers/coaches/parents who give the club their time freely and have been hard at it for the past few weeks getting everything set up. The amount of people that have been training in Samphire Park recently has been frightening and uplifting. Most of our teams will now switch to Ardfert Recreational Centre from this week on. Many of our groups are not at full strength yet, between going back to school and playing other sports, it is a busy time. We hope to see ye all over the next while as things settle down. Samphires Abú.

Huge thanks to Ryles Pharmacy for providing first aid kits for our teams and for their continued support of Fenit Samphires.

So if you’d like to give it a try come along next week…

Samphires U15s vs Camp Aug 2024

U15 GirlsCamp 4 v 1 Samphires (Scorer: Abi Kearney)

A tough start for our team today who went down to a few quick first half goals which really had us up against it. The never say die attitude and effort and a great goal by Abi were the highlights. This bunch will undoubtedly be back and stronger as season progresses 👍⚽

Samphires U14s vs Tralee Dynamos Aug 2024

Our U14 team led by Zack Kearney following a very enjoyable game against Dynamos. Scorers for Fenit, Conor Stack(2), Eoin Reilly, Cathal Harris, Cody Deedy and Eamon Og McElligott.

U12 Boys Samphires 3 v 0 Inter Kenmare

Well done to our 12s who hosted a tough Inter Kenmare in Fenit last Saturday. We went in 1 up at the half though it was an even enough affair. We had the upper hand in the 3rd quarter and eventually scored after a superb through ball from Aran set Fionn up who calmly slotted past the advancing keeper. The final quarter was helter skelter as Kenmare launched a barrage of attacks but with Peadar superb, and Sonny behind him, very solid, plus the defence in general in top form, we kept them out and Cian scored with minutes to go after a swift counter attack to put a gloss on the scoreline for us. Finally, to the Kenmare right midielder who got injured towards the end of the game we offer him all our best wishes and we hope he’ll be up and playing again soon.

Samphires U12s v Park U12s Aug 2024

U12 Boys Fenit Samphires B 2 v 0 Park B (Scorers: Jack Buckley, Luke McCann)

The U12 boys B squad got their Division 1 league campaign underway today in a sunny Fenit. The boys played really well together and goals from Jack Buckley and Luke McCann either side of half-time ensured a convincing home win to start the season. 2 others who did particularly well were Luke Falvey in goals and Garrett Lovett at right back.

U12 Boys Castleisland 3 v 1 Samphires

Our Boys C team had a tough start after a number of our squad weren’t available for the game. We only had the bare team, reliant on some 11s playing up. It was a creditable performance nonetheless and we hope with our full squad back in harness we hope to have a good season.
