Men’s Seniors: Iveragh United 2 v 3 Fenit Samphires (Scorers: Dylan Flynn, JJ Prior(2))
Our seniors picked up their first 3 points of the season this afternoon in Mounthawk Park. We had the majority of possession throughout the game but didn’t create as many chances as we could have with our opponents dangerous on the break. We went 1-0 up in the first half when Dylan Flynn finished after some good play down our right hand side. Not long after we conceded an equaliser from a free kick. 1-1 at half time.
The second half carried on in the same way seeing us with lots of the ball in the attacking half but we got caught on the break when Iveragh scored to make it 2-1. An inspired substitution changed the game in our favour as JJ Prior found the top corner with his first touch after coming on. We grabbed the winner when we broke late on and JJ calmly finished to the net. We defended well after that to see the game out. Well done to the squad and management!
**Senior B Team** Killorglin C 1 v 0 Samphires B

We are delighted to share that we will now have a Senior B team competing in the Kerry District League. It is great to see the level of interest at trainings so far this season and anyone, young or old, that is interested in joining are more than welcome. We played our first match away to Killorglin C and lost narrowly 1 nil in an even enough game. Good to see our lads holding their own right to the end and we were a bit unlucky not to force the draw. Well done to all.

Girls U15s: Samphires 1 v 7 MEK (Scorer: Abbie Kearney)

A disastrous 2nd quarter against a strong wind where we conceded 5 times put paid to any chance we had in this game. MEK are a very good team who will be challenging for the league. Our girls positioning out the field defensively was exposed with too many going for the same ball, leaving spaces around them for the other team. The second half was a good half for us as we steadied the ship and we put together a few good moves of our own. Best for us were Sadhbh Dowling and Abbie Kearney.

Boys U15s: Samphires 3 v 5 MEK (Scorers Conor Finn (2), Gary Parker)

Our 15s started the season with a disappointing defeat last Saturday in Fenit. Despite being on top for long periods our defending at times was poor and the goals we conceded were what we’d see at a much younger age. On the whole, we did quite a lot right, but in both business areas of the pitch, we will have to improve.

U14 Girls Div 1: Fenit 6 v 5 LB Rovers (Scorers: Erin Harty (3), Fiadh Nealon, Clodagh Buckley, OG)

A very good game where it ebbed from 1 end to the other, the game finished with us edging an 11 goal thriller.
Halftime 3 – 3.
Totw: Emilia Ryan (goalkeeper). Erin Harty (midfield).

Boys U14s Samphires 3 v 7 Killorglin (Scorers: Ben Stack, Scott Akinyami, Conor Walsh)

After a good start, where we took a 2 goal lead, we conceded a soft goal and we collapsed for a 10 minute spell and Killorglin fired in 5 quick fire goals to kill the game. We came back into it and it was end to end, but there was only one team going to win.

Boys U14Bs: Ballyheigue 1 v 4 Samphires

Well done to the boys team who played very well from start to finish. It was a good performance and it’s good to see what we practice in training being applied in the games.

Boys U14Bs: Samphires 0 vs 5 Dingle Bay Rovers

A poor day at the office against a tough team. We failed to compete and were deservedly beaten. We will have to get tougher if we are to become competitive.

Samphires U13s vs Tralee Dynamos Sept 24

Girls U13s: Samphires 3 v 2 Tralee Dynamos (Scorers:Hannah Barrett-Neziri(3))

Samphires proved victorious last Saturday under very harsh weather conditions on home ground. The girls battled with great determination and drive. Hannah Barrett – Neziri (10) Striker, scoring 3 goals in the first half. Going in to second half with wind against us and a 3 – 1 lead, the girls defended brilliantly with Hannah Redican and Mia Falvey clearing their lines and driving us on throughout the game. A great start to the season. Player of match: Hannah Barrett-Neziri, but well done to all the squad,

Samphires 12s v Camp Sept 24

Girls U12s: Camp 2 v 4 Samphires (Scorers: Fiadh McElligott (2), Aoibhinn Dowling(2))

A win today by the Under 12 girls away to Camp after a serious battle by both teams. It went 2-3 with 10 minutes to go but the girls found another gear to finish strong and win 4-2 in the end. It was an all round brilliant team performance.

Training has begun for all teams in the club at this stage. Our last group to start, the U9s and younger, started last Sunday morning bright and early in Ardfert. We had a a great turnout and there were high levels of skill on show.

Boys U12s: Samphires 2 v 0 LB Rovers: (Scorers: Luke Dillon(2))

Well done again to this 12s team have now won their first 2 games of the season. It was a hard won game against a good team. We had the wind in the first half and we scored twice. In the second half we were under the cosh but we stood up to it and won out in the end. Well done boys.

Smallies: Training continues in Ardfert on Sunday mornings 9-11.
