Seniors Munster Junior Cup: Killarney Celtic 2 v 0 Samphires

We lost out against Killarney Celtic on a score of 2 nil last Sunday in Killarney. We played quite well in the game and with a small bit of luck maybe, the scoreline could have been closer. Well done to Killarney and we wish them well in the next round. Going forward from our own point of view, it was another good performance by all the players and hopefully we will continue to build.

Boys U15s: Samphires 3 v 0 Ballyhar (Scorers: Aaron Harty, Dominick Regan(Pen), Jayden Deady)

The 15s recorded another win last Saturday in a busy day for the club in Fenit. We didn’t start well in this match with a lot of misplaced passes and too much dribbling which led to us being dispossessed repeatedly. Ballyhar repelled us easily for a long time before eventually we found our rhythm, but it took till the second half for us to open the scoring through Aaron. Dominick added a second with our second penalty of the game and Jayden made it 3 from a corner. A sluggish performance overall against a game Ballyhar team.

Girls U13s: Samphires 3 v 0 Killarney Ath (Scorers: Siofra Murphy (2), Elisha Deady)

Our U13 girls had their first home match of the season against Killarney Athletic on Saturday. We started very well and were on top but it took a long time to break down a tough defence. Eventually we scored from a counter attack down the right through Siofra. In the second half we added another 2 but had to be vigilant all through against a game Killarney team. The back line was superb and was the foundation of this win. Our  GOTM was Aoife Trant who had a fantastic game Well done girls.

Boys U12s: Samphires 6 v 0 LB Rovers (Scorers Cillian O’Brien (3) Cody Deady (3))

Another super win for Samphires U12’s this weekend with a comprehensive 6-0 victory over LB Rovers to retain our position at the top of the table. The foundation for this victory was some splendid defending and a refusal to let a shot on our goal. Our midfield dominated possession and were a constant threat to the opposition. Best on the day for us were Allan O’Connor, Cillian O’Brien and Cody Deady.
