The club would like to send our condolences to the family of Shane Burke who passed away this week. Shane, who grew up in Fenit, was involved with the early Samphires Senior and Youth teams in the mid 90s. He wore the Green and Black with pride, was a very skilful player who played both midfield and up front for us. Ar Dheis Dé Lena Anam Dílis.
Girls U16s: Samphires 3 v 3 MEK (Scorers: Isabel Moriarty(2), Lilly Nowak)
Our U16 Girls played MEK last Saturday in Fenit. We went down 1 nil in the first few minutes after a slow start, but playing with the wind we managed to score with Isabel Moriarty and Lilly Nowak after about 20 mins and 25 mins. It got better for us and we got a third before half time thanks to a second goal from Isabel. 3:1 at the half. Second half playing against the very strong wind, we conceded two goals but had a few more chances to score on the counterattack. We had to play a few players from U14 team as we were short some of our regular players. Well done to both teams on such a well contested game.
