Samphires U18s vs Killarney Athletic

Boys U18s: Samphires 6 v 0 Killarney Athletic (Scorers Noah Townsend (2), Michael Tansley, Cian O’Gara, Cian McKenna, Oran Murphy)
Another fine victory for the Youths, and our 3rd win on the bounce, in what was again, a  great team performance. Depleted in numbers and missing some key personnel, nevertheless, our12 men of dominated their visitors from the off and took the lead after 20 minutes with a 35 yard effort from team captain Michael Tansley following some excellent team build up play. Cian O’Gara made it two after 35 minutes with a header off an Oran Murphy corner. Leading 2 nil at halftime, super sub Cian McKenna then added a 3rd, scoring from close range on the hour mark before Oran Murphy deftly volleyed home Billy Walsh’s precision cross for Fenit’s 4th after 68 minutes .Noah Townsend completed the scoring with a brace in the last 10 minutes to complete the win.

Girls U12 vs Killarney Athletic

Girls U12s: Samphires 0 v 4 Killarney Athletic

Last Saturday afternoon we hosted Killarney Athletic. Conditions were brutal with the match under threat due to thunder, lightning, rain and hailstones. The teams lined out once the conditions picked up. Killarney started stronger with the wind advantage and scored their 4 goals before half time. We had a much improved second half and kept them scoreless and came close to scoring ona couple of occasions. Roll of honour for Samphires were Jessica reen and Sophia Wallace. Well done to all the brave girls on both teams.

Boys U11s: The boys 11s played Listowel Celtic last Saturday morning. It was cold and blustery, but we had quite a good match. As usual there was some great skill on show, but going forward we will have to try to stay in our positions, as too often we were exposed with a switch in play. Well done to all our lads though who gave as good as they got.
