Girls U16s: Samphires 6 v 0 MEK (Scorers Sarah O Sullivan 5, Alisha Deady 1)
Last league game of the season and we left the best till last!. Great 6 nil win with an amazing 5 goal tally for Sarah O Sullivan and a great strike from Alishea Deady. What was most impressive was the passing and workrate. All 17 girls played fantastic. Captain Ciara Collins put in a massive performance. Well done all. We now play Listowel Celtic in the cup on Saturday morning at 10.30. The contest was very even throughout and thanks to MEK for sporting game.
Boys U16s: LB Rovers 3 v 1 Samphires (Scorer: Noah O’Carroll)
We lost out in a potential league decider on Saturday conceding 2 goals in the last 10 minutes. We dominated the first half and conceded a very poor goal from a corner in one of the rare attacks by LB, a corner that needn’t have been conceded. We equalised with maybe our best attack of the season through Noah after some tremendous play from the team. Though we dominated the play LB were very solid at the back and minimised us to long range efforts. in the second half, both teams had periods of dominance and it seemed clear that if one team scored, they probably would win the game, and so it transpired. With 10 minutes to go LB had good possession and created a shooting chance at the edge of the box which they scored. We went on the attack for the equaliser but another good move down the wing on the counter by LB caught us with not enough numbers in defence, giving them the win. It must be said that our lads did make every effort in the match and we can consider ourselves unlucky to lose to the team that look like winning the league.
Congratulations to KSGBL U16 Boys team and coaches on winning U16 Barcelona Cup 2023. Especial well done to Aaron Jayden and Jack who represented the club.
Great evening at Mounthawk Park as our u13 Girls were mascots for the LOI First Division game between Kerry and Galway United F.C. and played at half time. The girls did the club proud with their half time display and made plenty of noise in support of Kerry Football Club

Well done to the Samphires u13 girls today who narrowly lost out to Limerick in the Munster Community Games futsal semi final in UL this morning. Despite a tough first half and giving themselves a mountain to climb in the second half the girls battled immensely and nearly pulled off a remarkable comeback but fell to a strong Limerick side. Well done to everyone on their futsal journey this year. Thanks to all support from players that trained, parents and most importantly the players who showed great courage and resilience every step of the way. They did their parish, club and county proud👏👏⚽
