Boys U15s Premier: Samphires 1 v MEK 2 (Scorer M. Corridan)
This was a really good game of soccer between two evenly matched teams, even the referee commented on the quality of play, and the positive endeavour of both teams after the game. MEK went a head in the twenty fifth minute with a penalty kick, but we responded immediately with an well take opportunist goal by Mikey Corridan from the kick off. Fenit slowly grew into the game, and started to put some lovely passing moves together. Mid way through the second half MEK scored a cracking goal, so we were left to chase the game, which the boys did with energy and composure. Even though we threatened their goal on a number of occasions, we just came up short. In our goals Eoin Mangan was immense, pulling off some outstanding saves and distributing the ball tactically, as usual Dara Harty was a powerhouse in midfield.

U14 Girls: Samphires 1 Killarney Athletic 5 Scorer (Abi Kearney)

A game where the scoreline was not a true reflection of the game where our players were immense and for a bit of luck could have found themselves fighting for the result. Every player showing huge heart against a tough Killarney side. A great goal by Abi Kearney and some strong performances by girls that really stepped up when called upon are huge positives that we’ll take forward to our next game. Well done girls and thanks to Killarney Athletic for a sporting game👏⚽

U13s vs LB Rovers Oct 2023

Boys U13s: LB Rovers 1 v 1 Samphires (Scorer Evan Neary (pen))

Our u13 Green Team played LB Rovers on Saturday afternoon in Ballyduff. This was a equal contest with both sides creating plenty of chances. We were ahead  at half time through a well taken penalty by Evan Neary. In the 2nd half LB Rovers equalised through a very good strike from the edge of the area. Despite both sides having chances it ended honours even which was a fair result. Thanks to LB Rovers for a sporting game.

Girls U12s: Samphires 2 v 6 Listowel Celtic (Scorers: Hannah Barret-Neziri (2))

A strong Listowel team came out on top in this one, early Saturday morning in Fenit. Trailing 4-0 at half time, our girls showed great character in the 2nd half. When we got the score back to 5-2 we looked the better team and the 4 goal loss wasn’t a true reflection of the match. Mia Falvey ran herself into the ground while Grace, Edith and Addison battled hard and Hannah Barret-Neziri, with 2 goals, never gave up. Thanks to Listowel for a tough and sporting game.

Boys U12s: Samphires 4 v 0 Listowel Celtic (Scorers: Conor McCarthy, Fionn Lyons, Aran Keating, Oran Flaherty)

We played our second away game of the league on a balmy Saturday evening at the ARC against league leaders Listowel Celtic. Following a tough start Conor McCarthy used his blistering pace to beat the Listowel offside line and coolly slotted into the bottom corner to put us 1 up after 13 minutes. Following a lenghty period of pressure where our back three of Conor Walsh, Fiachra Slattery and Ben Stack were working really well as a unit a fantastic cross from Conor James was met by a towering header from Fionn Lyons at the back post to put us two up. With Daniel Lawlor and Seadhna Kelly in control in midfield we went in at half time 2 up. The Fenit version of the blond bomb squad, Aran Keating, Oran Flaherty and Kian Skretny were launched into the fold in the second half with immediate effect with a fantastic square ball from the right emphatically put away by Oran and the final goal well taken by the excellent Aran Keating. MJ Locke was unbeatable in goals and all 12 players were on form in a 4-0 win.
